## Six initial VeldBuild use cases

- [Work readiness](https://www.veldarium.com/use-cases/work-readiness): Determine whether a specific unit of physical work can begin now — and, when it cannot, say exactly which gate is open and who owns it. **Current maturity:** Demonstrated deterministically on VS-001 in the working proof (/demo). Live shipyard connectors are planned.
- [Change impact](https://www.veldarium.com/use-cases/change-impact): When a configuration change is released, trace it to the work, material, inspection and schedule it actually affects — and mark honestly what cannot be traced. **Current maturity:** Change propagation demonstrated on VS-001 (CFG-029) with a defined, scored evaluation contract. Live PLM connectors are planned.
- [Configuration authority](https://www.veldarium.com/use-cases/configuration-authority): Determine which released definition governs a piece of work at a point in time when drawings, redlines, change notices and field copies disagree. **Current maturity:** Modelled on VS-001 (Rev C → Rev D on WP-019). Live PLM and configuration connectors are planned.
- [Material readiness](https://www.veldarium.com/use-cases/material-readiness): Determine whether the correct material for a work package is physically present and accepted at receipt — not merely ordered or nominally in stock. **Current maturity:** Demonstrated as a readiness gate on VS-001 (2 of 9 spools short). Live ERP and receiving connectors are planned.
- [Production state](https://www.veldarium.com/use-cases/production-state): Represent what is actually complete, underway, waiting or unknown across a block — so the vessel is never assumed further along than its least-ready section. **Current maturity:** Modelled per-block on VS-001. Live MES and scheduling connectors are planned.
- [Quality and acceptance](https://www.veldarium.com/use-cases/quality-acceptance): Determine what evidence establishes that work is complete or accepted — hold points signed, inspections passed, nonconformances dispositioned — or say honestly that it cannot be established. **Current maturity:** Modelled as hold points and evidence on VS-001 (INS-124). Live QMS and inspection connectors are planned.
