THE OPERATIONAL TRUTH LAYER

The operational truth layer.

Continuum resolves which answer governs across fragmented records, revisions, exceptions, decisions, expert knowledge, permissions, and applicability conditions — then exposes what a named human still must decide.

Product surfaces

Six surfaces. One operational truth model.

Each surface is a place where operators already work. Continuum unifies them around authority, applicability, evidence, and named human control.

Ask

Demonstrated with synthetic data

Operational questions with evidence-bound governing answers.

Resolve

Demonstrated with synthetic data

Authority, revision, applicability, permissions, conflicts, and exceptions.

Compare

Demonstrated with synthetic data

Revisions, procedures, decisions, configurations, and changes over time.

Remember

Under active development

Controlled records, decisions, service history, and verified expert knowledge.

Decide

Demonstrated with synthetic data

Route uncertainty, recommendations, exceptions, and consequential actions to named humans.

Audit

Working now

Replay sources, retrieval, reviews, decisions, corrections, and downstream actions.

Universal operational truth model

Authority + applicability + evidence + time = what governs.

Continuum does not flatten sources into a vector database. It preserves the attributes that determine whether a source actually controls a decision.

Authority

Approved, released, superseded, draft, and unverified are first-class states. A newer timestamp does not automatically outrank an approved revision.

Applicability

Site, asset, project, role, and effective date filter which sources govern a specific question. A Southwest exception does not apply to a Midwest line.

Evidence

Every material claim links to a source with revision, scope, and named owner. Conflicts and missing evidence are surfaced, not smoothed over.

Time

Effective dates, superseded dates, and decision histories matter. Continuum answers as of the date relevant to the work.

Human knowledge capture

Preserve the judgment behind the answer.

Experienced employees contribute notes. Reviewers verify what can be supported against evidence. Tacit knowledge becomes attributable, reviewable, and discoverable — without being promoted to authority prematurely.

Verified experiential knowledge

Contributor attribution, reviewer sign-off, supporting records, and explicit limitations.

Unverified knowledge stays labeled

Informal shop-floor notes are preserved but never treated as equal to controlled procedures until reviewed.

Human control boundaries

AI proposes, resolves, compares, and explains. Humans decide what happens next.

Consequential actions are previewed, routed to named owners, and recorded. The system does not silently execute work that changes physical reality.

Named ownership

Every recommendation, exception, and unresolved conflict has an assigned human owner.

Decision memory

Why a decision was made, what evidence supported it, and who approved it remain inspectable.

Product status

Honest status for each capability.

Every stage is labeled. Synthetic demonstration does not imply production connector readiness.

1. Connect

Under active development

Authorized sources connected or uploaded under organization scope.

2. Ingest

Working now

Documents and records parsed; identity and raw artifacts retained.

3. Preserve

Working now

Metadata, ownership, and lineage preserved rather than flattened away.

4. Structure

Working now

Authority, revision, applicability, and knowledge class modeled.

5. Retrieve

Working now

Permission-aware retrieval across exact, full-text, and relationship signals.

6. Compare

Demonstrated with synthetic data

Approved vs newest, superseded vs effective, site-specific conflicts.

7. Verify

Under active development

Expert contributions reviewed and linked to supporting evidence.

8. Explain

Demonstrated with synthetic data

Answers state support, limitations, conflicts, and missing evidence.

9. Decide

Demonstrated with synthetic data

Decision memory: why something was approved, rejected, or excepted.

10. Record

Under active development

Questions, evidence, reviews, and decisions remain auditable.

11. Act with approval

Planned

Prepare or route actions; named humans approve consequential steps.

12. Audit

Working now

Trace retrieval and action lifecycle for operators who secure the workspace.
